The entire theoretical portion (Modules 1–7) takes just two focused hours. No filler, no tangents. Just what you need to operate safely and confidently. Module 8 is a brief hands-on verification in our workshop, so you can prove your readiness in real time.
We teach using the same band saw model found in TroubleMaker’s workshop. That means zero guesswork when you step up to the real thing. What you learn here applies directly, no mental translation needed.
This isn’t a maintenance manual. We focus only on what operators need to know: Safe setup, proper feeding, emergency response, and daily checks. Everything else? Left out on purpose, so you stay focused on what matters.
Our content comes from instructors who work with these machines regularly (with a bit of help of Qwen).
The training is split into eight focused modules.
Modules 1 through 7 cover all essential safety knowledge. From machine anatomy and personal protective equipment to blade handling, feeding techniques, and emergency procedures. Each module builds on the last, so nothing feels rushed or disconnected.
Module 8 is a short, hands-on practical test conducted in our workshop. It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing you can apply what you’ve learned safely and confidently on the actual band saw used at TroubleMaker.

No. This training is designed for complete beginners. That being said, it is also valuable for anyone who has used band saws before without formal safety instruction.
Take your time. Once you start, you’ll have one year access to the theoretical modules. Complete them in one sitting or over several days. It’s up to you.
We’ve labeled it “Focused”. Not because it’s technically hard, but because safety demands your attention. You don’t need prior experience, just the willingness to slow down, understand risks, and stay present while working with the band saw. If you do that, you’ll be in great shape.
You’ll get specific feedback and one free retest within two weeks. Most people pass on the first try, but we’re here to help you succeed.
We provide safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust mask, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Closed-toe shoes are required. No exceptions.
Yes. Each learner needs their own account so we can track progress and issue individual certificates.
No. The practical test assumes you’ve completed Modules 1–7. Safety starts with knowledge.
The training is not available in other languages, but most modern browsers can translate the full text into other languages. Just keep in mind that the practical test is in English.
The knowledge applies everywhere. Your certificate, issued by TroubleMaker, verifies you’ve met our safety standard, which many workshops and schools recognize as a strong baseline.
It means there is a unique QR code on your certificate. When someone scans this QR code, they will land on the TroubleMaker website and will see the digital version of your certificate. This way other workshops can double-check you really meet our standards and have passed our tests.
