Are you into robotics, 3D printing, and playful design? Robot Otto is ready for your remix!

About Otto

Otto started as an open-source robot project that helps people learn by building, coding, and creating. Over time, it has grown into the modular HP Robots platform that supports accessories, add-ons, and custom upgrades. And that makes Otto a great fit for remixing on Printables!

Otto Remix Challenge

Challenge

Design a 3D printable remix for Otto that changes how it looks, works, or what it can do. You can make a practical upgrade, a themed character, a fun accessory, or a new module. We’re looking for original ideas that give Otto a new style, personality, or purpose.

Here are a few ways to get started:
  • Accessories - new tools, attachments, modules, or expansions.
  • Characters - turn Otto into a themed design or give it a new personality.
  • Devices - build something new using Otto’s parts, features, or system.

For inspiration, you can also explore Otto’s Printables profile, which features more than 60 models!

Don’t have the kit?

That’s totally fine. No purchase is necessary to participate. You can design your entry using the provided files:

We recommend using the Maker Empire 3D modelling app, where you can easily use them.

Special deal

For anyone who wants to try out their ideas in real life, HP Robots is also offering a special deal for contest participants!

You can purchase HP Robots kits (Starter Creator kit and all Expansion Creator kits) at a special price directly via their official CZ, EU, or US e-shop:

  • EU participants: 25% off the regular EUR price (incl. VAT) + free shipping. Use discount code CONTEST at checkout.
  • Non-EU participants: 30% off the regular USD (excl. VAT) + standard shipping. Use discount code CONTESTUS at checkout.

Want to code your Otto?

If your design involves programming, you can start with the HP Robots web blocks platform. Advanced users can also use any ESP32-compatible coding platform, including Thonny IDE for MicroPython or the Arduino IDE.
